African Traditional Medicine Use amongst People Living with HIV/AIDS in Sub-Saharan Africa in the Era of Antiretroviral Therapy

In Sub-Saharan Africa, the ratio of traditional healers to the general population is approximately 1:500, while doctors trained in “Western” medicine have a 1:40000 ratio to the rest of the population [1].
