The Journal of Ecology and Toxicology is a peer-reviewed, Open Access journal that publishes original research as well as review articles in all areas of ecological and toxicological sciences. Articles focusing on behavioural, environmental, evolutionary, and population ecology will be considered, as well new findings relating to biodiversity, conservation, and paleoecology. Journal of Ecology and Toxicology encourages the submission of big data studies, either presenting novel findings from large datasets or demonstrating new analytical techniques.

Ecology and Toxicology is a branch of science which deals with the relationships between organism and their natural environment and effects of harmful substances on organism at population community and ecosystem level. The journal publishes papers on ecology and toxicology in both terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. In addition to population and community ecology, articles on biogeochemistry, ecosystems, microbial ecology, physiological plant ecology, climate change, molecular genetics, mycorrhizal ecology, and the interactions between plants and organisms such as animals or bacteria, are published regularly.
